First Charity Golf Tournament A Success!
It was a beautiful day for a Charity Golf Tournament on Wednesday, May 16th, 2018. The day began with all of the excited participants checking in. Then they had the opportunity to meet with some of the volunteers from Alliston Out of the Cold (AOC) and civilian and uniformed members from the Nottawasaga OPP Detachment.
As golfers gathered into their teams and carts, they were all greeted by staff from the golf course and a few words were said by AOC Program Director Jenifer Pergentile. Following that, community member Rory McKinnon played the bagpipes while the golfers headed out for their game of golf on the beautiful course at The Club at Bond Head.
There were many hole sponsors at the event who gave out food and drinks along with other swag from businesses. Most golfers also participated in several games on the course such as the putting contest, longest drive, closet to the pin and the hole in one contest which was sponsored by Trillium Ford. Each golfer also received a complimentary lunch, sponsored by the Nottawaswaga Foundation
After a long day of golf in the sun, the golfers came in for a steak dinner and had the opportunity to bid on some amazing silent auction prizes that were generously donated from all of our sponsors and donors. Over $14,000 was raised from the event and will go to support the operations of Alliston Out of the Cold.
Alliston Out of the Cold and the Nottawasaga OPP Detachment would like to thank all the volunteers and sponsors who made this event possible and all the participants for making it an amazing day. We look forward to next year’s event!
